Lose Weight The Same Way You Keep It Off

Omaha Weight Loss Coach

If you’re like most women, you’ve probably tried 1 or 2 diets in the past that have felt restrictive, complicated, or hard to stick with.

Maybe you’ve tried…

  • Eating only 1200 calories a day…or less.
  • Programs based on pre-packaged meals that you have to purchase every week.
  • Tracking every bite of food you that goes into your mouth, calculating how many calories and fat grams it has, and then recording every detail of it.
  • Eating ONLY cabbage soup…or grapefruit…or a lemonade concoction with maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

The truth is that most of these diets and programs will work for awhile. It is possible to lose weight while you’re doing them, and you may even be able to maintain it for awhile.

But, what happens when you get tired of of being hungry all of the time?
Or when your metabolism slows down because you’re eating too few calories?
Or when you don’t want to have to keep purchasing those pre-packaged meals?
Or when you want to eat something other than cabbage soup every day?

Most likely, what happens is that you go back to your old habits. Most diets don’t teach you how to eat after you lose the weight. And, let’s be fair, very few people want to stick with those restrictive diets for the rest of their lives. I know that I always got tired of following them!

Lose Weight to Keep It Off

This topic has been on my mind because I recently talked with a woman who, very wisely, told me that she needs to lose weight in the same way that she will keep it off.

I loved how she verbalized this because it’s true, and that’s how we all need to approach weight loss.

What she really means is that she wants to create a healthy lifestyle that allows her to lose weight. And, she wants this way of eating to become her new “normal” so that she can keep the weight off.

I can promise you that this is possible for her, and it can be possible for you.

I have watched so many women, including myself, figure out how to create a healthy lifestyle…without feeling deprived or like they are missing out.

In fact, most of my clients end up enjoying their food even MORE than they did in the past because they feel full and satisfied, they stop thinking about food all of the time, and they find freedom.

So if traditional diets haven’t worked for you in the past, my challenge to you is to stop looking for a diet that will just help you lose the weight. Instead, learn how to make eating healthy a lifestyle that feels simple to stick with AND that you enjoy….because that is important, too!

Then, you WILL get to a healthy weight for your body and you WILL be able to keep it off for good.
